Yes indeed the son-to-father-to-son relationship is a bit a mind-bender. I like that song too, simply because it speaks something that I struggled with for a long time when I was young - how to heal a relationship that had always been inherently flawed, not just between me and him, but between all the sons and fathers in our family, going back hund more…

The references to your father in the song above really hits me, as I am both a son and a father and feel both sides. When my first son was born, my world spun around and I went from being my father's son to being my father looking at my son as he looked at me. I truly feel part of the beautiful continueum.

Um ... orbs .. nope, but it's a beautiful thought.

Actually, that night we were driving back from the pub to a where we were staying down the coast, near Apollo Bay, and it was beginning to rain as the sun finished setting, and the sky was singing it's heart out, so I thought I'd take a photo of it, using a flash to light things up, more…

Fantastic ... as I said in the post, it's amazing how responsive the body is if we just listen to its sensual signals, and respond with an expansive and accepting sensibility instead of a contracted fearful one.

It's interesting to note that our culture conditions us to respond to body signals with fear ... to contract against pain, more…

Thanks for the post. My 12 year old son woke up this morning and started complaining about a pain in his shoulder. The more he tried to bend his head and neck to get rid of the pain the worse it got - as did his moaning and complaining. Finally in the afternoon he got so bad I thought I'd try what I've learnt from your books and posts with him. more…

Yep ... lapsed into very hairy situations when making jokes in emails ... which have been read by angry people who don't come out laughing ... funny thing is, I don't remember these misinterpretations happening with letters. Maybe the paper is psychic in a way that emails aren't, each letter taking with it an embedded memory in the paper of the mo more…

Yep, you're right ... the word curse has a 'bad' connotation ... my fault.

But in my world there is no bad ... so I suppose I was using curse as in 'that which will cause suffering of some kind" ...

Words are like sticky bombs a bit aren't they ...

But you did state the it was "the pursuit of happiness" that was the curse - not happiness itself. It's like the saying "money is the root of all evil" when in fact it's the pursuit of money that's bad.

As for the length of your posts - It's your blog you can make your posts any length you want. Nobody is forced to read them.

I was ordering "Levin's God" on Amazon.com in batch order with a number of other books. There are some resellers with it on Amazon.com, but the main Amazon store didn't have it. Don't worry, I will get it eventually from somewhere ;) I do want to read it sometime.

Levin's God out of stock? I'll look into it. But I'm not gone ... just waiting till I feel the urge again. Added to which I've only got so many words in me per day, so doing the novel and the blog, (though I did it before) for some reason has become too much.

Roger, It has been a joy to read your blog and follow your writings over the years. Usually when I get discouraged and give up trying so hard, that an opportunity suddenly appears.
